Review by hotel critic
My family and I recently had a delightful stay at La Pergola, a charming family-run hotel just outside Amalfi. It was a breath of fresh air, just the type of cozy spot we needed for our getaway. The warmth of the Proto family made us feel right at home, especially during their intimate lemon-centered dining experience. We savored a delicious five-course meal that highlighted their homegrown produce-pure culinary joy! Although we missed out on the cooking lessons, which occur twice a week, we were impressed by how attentive the staff was in helping us organize transportation. The bus stop in front made getting around easy-no stress navigating Amalfi's crowds. The ferry service was likewise a highlight for day trips to Positano and Ravello. Our room was spacious and boasted a lovely terrace where we enjoyed views of the stunning landscape. The rooftop bar was a perfect place to share a drink while watching the sunset. With a great local delicacies menu, it became our go-to for evening unwinding. La Pergola provided a welcoming atmosphere, making it an excellent base for exploring Southern Italy. We would certainly return for another family adventure!
